Our Work

The Lancet Countdown in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) is tracking the connections between public health and climate change across the islands in the Caribbean, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean, and South China Seas.

The Lancet Countdown SIDS Regional Centre established as a research collaboration in 2022, whose missions is to monitor health and climate change in the island states across regions.

Building on the work of the global Lancet Countdown and other regions, it leverages on the wealth of data and cross disciplinary expertise in the Caribbean, Pacific, and AIMS, seeking to develop high-resolution SIDS-specific indicators that explore the health aspects of climate change of relevance to the region.
