VACANCY: Lancet Countdown in Africa are recruiting a Research Fellow!

We are looking for a motivated Research Fellow to join the Lancet Countdown in Africa: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change.

The Lancet Countdown in Africa was established in 2022 with the aim of contributing to research on the relationships between health and climate change that are of particular importance to the African region and its communities. Applications from African nationals are therefore strongly encouraged.

This exciting opportunity for an epidemiologist will drive research efforts and evidence synthesis on the health co-benefits of climate change mitigation actions. The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree, preferably PhD, in epidemiology, public health, environmental sciences or other field related to climate change and planetary health with a cultural awareness and understanding of the specific regional priorities.

The position sits within the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and will be based at The MRC Unit The Gambia, a faculty of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The post will contribute to two globally significant projects: 1) The Pathfinder Initiative lead by colleagues in the Centre for Climate Change and Planetary Health, LSHTM and 2) The Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change lead by colleagues within the Institute for Global Health, University College London. The post is full-time and fixed-term until 31stJuly. The salary will be on the Academic pathways Grade 6 in the range of £40,611-£46,119 per annum (inclusive of London weighting).
