Lancet Countdown Academic Meeting 2017

The London meeting brought together representatives from a range of academic and strategic partners including The Lancet, Wellcome Trust, University College London, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, World Meteorological Organization, World Health Organization among others. The purpose of the meeting was to finalise the indicators for the 2017 report, explore future indicators, and discuss a range of national case studies highlighting exemplary efforts from around the world.

The meeting was complemented by a public event on Monday evening which saw students, academics and policymakers from a range of civil society organisations working in international development, debate with an expert panel over the priorities for future multidisciplinary research efforts and the course of action that academics should take.

The event discussed complementary measures to improve health and environment which are being adopted by other organisations including Public Health England, the Overseas Development Institute and the Lancet Countdown. You can re-watch the full panel discussion below.
