PR and Media Officer

There has never been a more urgent and important time to work in climate change and health. If you can hit the ground running, have a current contacts list of print, broadcast and online journalists and love the fast-paced environment of a busy press period, then join the Lancet Countdown as we launch our annual report and prepare for COP26.

We’re looking for someone who will remain calm whilst responding to media enquiries with speed and accuracy. The successful candidate will have excellent news release writing skills and be highly organised. The role will include working across global time zones so may include some out of hours working.

Duration of appointment: this consultancy post is available from August 2021 to December 2021 in the first instance. Number of days per week flexible, freelancers welcome.

Salary: £36,028 to £43,533 (inclusive of London Allowance) per annum, based on qualifications and experience

Reports to: Emma Frost, Communications Manager, Lancet Countdown

Data Scientist

We are looking for a motivated researcher with strong quantitative analysis skills to join the
Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change. The appointee will join
the Lancet Countdown, an independent, international and multi-disciplinary research
collaboration based out of University College London’s Institute for Global Health.

Duration of appointment: this consultancy post is available from 1 July 2021 to 1 November 2021 in the first instance.

Salary: £36,028 to £43,533 (inclusive of London Allowance) per annum, based on qualifications and experience

Reports to: Marina Romanello, Lead Data Scientist, the Lancet Countdown
